| San Antonio Light, Monday, June 5, 1911, p. 1, col. 4, bottom === ZUERCHER SECURES CUSTODY OF HIS SON === Judge Dwyer Decides Case and Appeal Is Taken By Defendant, Child's Grandmother. === Judge Dwyer this morning decided that the custody of Henry Zuecher, 5-year-old son of Mrs. Annie Volz, deceased, and William Zuercher, her former divorced husband, should belong to the child's father, who has been suing for possession of the boy. Upon the announcement of the decision, counsel for the defense stated that the case would be appealed. Then the question was raised concerning the proper, legal custody of the child during the progress of the appealed case. Neither the court nor the attorneys were able to decide the matter. The law on this point, the court said, will be ascertained and the decision will be announced Saturday of this week. In the meantime, Henry will remain in the custody of Mrs. August Metke (sic), his grandmother, who has had him in her keeping since the death of Mrs. Volz. |
