CUSTODY OF BOY IS AWARDED TO FATHER
===
Little Son of William Zuercher Clings to His Grandfather When Parting Comes.
===
Final custody of Henry Zuercher, 5-year-old son of Mrs. Annie Volz, deceased, and William Zuercher, her former divorced husband, was awarded to the father this morning in the Thirty-seventh district court. A motion for appeal, taken by the defendants, Mr. and Mrs. August Zuercher (sic), on June 5, when Judge Dwyer rendered his original decision in favor of the plaintiff, was abandoned, and the court costs were placed upon Zuercher, the petitioner for his son's custody.
Henry clung frantically to his step-grandfather, Mr. Metke (sic), before being delivered to his father on the steps of the court house. He cried pitiably and had to be torn away from his former custodian's knees.
===
The errors are: Little Henry's grandmother had remarried August Mattke (not August Zuercher). His "step-grandfather" was Mr. Mattke, not Metke.
Note that William Zuercher's father was August Zuercher, but I believe he was the plaintiff and not the defendant.
