Military rites for pvt. Whitlock legion post to furnish guard
Pvt. William J. Whitlock, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Whitlock 318 N. Miley Ave. Who was killed in action Aug. 6, 1944 in France will be buried with full military honors in Edinburg Ind., following services at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Gosney Funeral Home. He died at 19.
The American Legion post in Edinburg will furnish the honor guard. Born in Kentucky, pvt. Whitlock lived most of his life in Edinburg and enlisted from there in the army in 1939. An infantry-man he participated in the D-day assault of France and the African campaign. He was a member of the Edinburg catholic church. He is survived by a brother James Whitlock, Bridgeport, and two sisters, Mrs. Bernie Pike, Shelbyville and Mrs. Mary Martin, Indianapolis, in addition to his parents.

Veteran's Body Will Arrive Tomorrow
The body of Private William J. Whitlock who died while a member overseas of Company E. 60th infantry in 1944 will arrive in Edinburg tomorrow. Private whitlocks parents are Mr. and Mrs. James Whitlock, former Edinburg residents and now of Indianapolis. The body will arrive in Edinburg at 2 p.m. tomorrow and will be taken to the Gosney Funeral Home.
Father Anthony Seger will conduct the services Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at rest Haven Cemetery Edinburg, where members of edinburg Post 233 of the american Legion will accord military honors.
