There he became Justice of the Sabine Co Court from 1837-1839. He had a full section of land, 640 acres , from a land grant in Dallas Co., Texas certificate number #71, dtd Jan 23, 1839. On Jun 7, 1841, Isaac F. Pace was named administrator of the estate of F.T. Gaines, stating that he had died a citizen of the Republic of Texas and Sabine County. No record has been found of any other marriages of Francis T. Gaines.
