He built a house down the hill from his and his wife's house and moved his wife's sister into it. One researcher reports he had five children by his wife's sister. He later married Caroline McCormack MOFFITT.

Help! I am looking for my dads brother. He was born Charlie Hooks in about 1921 or so in Texas. His mother died when he was about 7 years old and a brother also. They were said to died of food poisoning in Hotel Due in Beaumont, Tx. in about 1935 or so. The family was taken to the Port Neches, Tx. area when they left the hospital. They actually lived in Silsbee, TX. in the Hooks Settlement. They went to live with Fate Hooks' sister until they were well enough to return home. A Stanbery family was supposed to have taken Charlie in and care for him. This family was said to own a dairy farm not very far off the highway in the Port Neches-Nederland area. Several years ago, 1989 maybe, I wrote a letter to the Social Security Office and they forwarded a letter to him or his family. I never heard anything.
My dad can not read very well so I wondered if maybe he could not either or if someone else might have gotten the letter and did not want him to get upset. His birth parents were Fate Hooks and Tomzal Morgan Hooks. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated. With hope of putting this family back together again.

I am looking for my dads brother. His name is though to be Charlie Hooks. My dads name is Perry Hooks and other brothers are Stone Haynes, Pleze Hooks, Allen Hooks, Martin Hooks. The are the children of Lafayette "Fate" Hooks and wife Tomzal Morgan. Charlie was to be born about 1923 or so. The mother and Allen died in 1930 when my dad was about 2-3 years old. Martin died when he was 8 months old in 1923. My dad was raised by a Williams family and Stone was adopted by a Haynes family and had to change his name for I.D. purposes when he went into the military. The family that took Charlie in owned a dairy farm in the Port Neches, Tx. area. Any help would be appreciated.
