      Final Rites For Sfc. Othur Bright Thursday P. M., 2:30
      Funeral rites for Sfc. Othur William Bright, who died April 9 in a U. S. Army hospital in El Paso, Texas, were held Thursday afternoon at the Laurel Heights Baptist Church.  Services were conducted by the Rev. Waynon Mott, pastor, and under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home.  The body of Sfc. Bright arrived in Winnfield in Winnfield from El Paso Thursday morning at 1:56 on train by way of Shreveport.  Sfc. Bright served 30 months in the U. S. Air Force in the European Theater during World War II.  He reenlisted, was assigned to the infantry and then sent to Japan and Korea in November, 1953.  Pallbearers serving at the final rites were Earnest Melton, Dalton Martin, Dennis Shell, Denton Shell, Charles Bass, and Marvin Carroway.  Surviving him are his widow and six children, three daughters, Peggy Joyce, Judy Carrol, Nelda; three sons, Mack, Othur, Jr., and Larry, all of whom reside in Winnfield; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bright, Winnfield; four brothers, Everett Bright, Lonoke, Ark., George Bright, now with the U. S. Armed Forces in England, Charles Bright, Jr., Joseph Bright, Winnfield; seven sisters, Mrs. John Hubbard, Bossier City, Mrs. Louie P. Barton, Joyce, Mrs. W. N. Strickland, Thibodaux, Thelma Bright, Mary Sue Bright, Lillie Leona Bright, and Carolyn Bright, Winnfield.
