James Wayland Cloud departed this life on July 18, 2006 in Oklahoma City, OK. God has instructed us that our life is but a vapor. However, some burn brighter. James was a WWII veteran of the Battle of the Bulge, an Engineer and a noted Historian. Most particularly an Oklahoma History Author. His tireless work at the Oklahoma Historical Society gave him great joy, as did it for those that knew him. Although we will miss him greatly, his stories (both short and long) and his sayings will endure through the history he was not able to complete. Survivors includes wife, Billie Cloud; a son James W. Cloud, Jr. daughters, Susan D. Williams, Pamela L. Harrell, and Lisa C. Dickerson; grandsons, Jason Williams, Robert Williams, Bradley Williams, Ryan Williams, Phillip Harrell, and Matthew Harrell, granddaughters, M'liss Williams, Elizabeth Cloud, Eden Dickerson, great-grandsons, Patrick Williams, Chandler Williams, Riley Williams, great-granddaughters, Cassie Williams, Jessica Williams and Sidni Rath, to be announced great granddaughter on the way. We will miss you Dad. But we will remember the things you taught us and will continue to share your wisdom and humility. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 21, 2006 at Northwest Christian Church, Oklahoma City, OK. Graveside service will be at 3:00 P.M. Friday at the Watonga I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Watonga, OK.
