    • Jason Cloud accumulated large tracts of land in East Tennessee. In 1795, he sold 640 acres to William Cocke for the sum of $1,000.00.  The Governor of NC issued Grant No. 300 to William, Isaac and Jason Cloud for 1,200 acres of land located in the Eastern District lying on the Tennessee River above the mouth of the Clinch River.  The area covered by the grant became Grainger County, TN and Campbell County was later formed out of a part of Grainger.  Jason Cloud resided in the area until his death.

      Joseph Cloud Sr. sells plantation and mill on Peters Creek to sons Jason and Isaac. The sale was witnessed by Joseph Cloud Jr. and John Lankford.

      Jason Cloud received a NC Grant for 200 acres along Turkey Cock Creek adjacent the Virginia line.

    5. [S1167] Sullivan County, TN Deeds, Book1 & 2, 1776 - 1796, p 643.
      Governor Samuel Johnston of NC issued Grant No. 488 to Jason Cloud for 200 acres in Sullivan County on the south side of the Holston River adjoining the lands of Francis Holt and Joseph Kincaid.

      Jason Cloud received NC Grant No. 445 for 300 acres in Carter's Valley running along Robert Campbell's line. The grant was issued at Kingston, Roane County, TN. Jason paid 50 shillings per acre for the land.
