- In the name of God amen ,I Reps Jones of Lunenburg County, being of perfect mind and memory, blessed be God for it, do here make my last will and Testament in form and manner following: First and principally, I recommend my soul to God who gave it, Secondly, my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner. And as to my worldly goods which it hath pleased almighty God to bestow on me, I devise in manner following. I give and bequeath to my son Reps Jones the land whereon he now lives except one hundred acres on the side (next) ? the road joining Mainyard's land. I give unto my son Robert Jones the land whereon he now lives beginning in the plantation on a white oak running near a south course to a branch; thence up the branch to the road to a corner scrub oak, thence by a line of marked trees to Thomas Williams, also two cows and calves. I give unto my son Drury Jones the upper part of the land by the said (Chapel)? line to Thomas Williams line, thence along his line to his corner red oak thence near the same course to Robert Chappels line one bed and two cows and calves. I give unto my son William Jones all the remainder of the tract of land, one mare called his, one bed, two cows and calves. I give unto my son Thomas Jones the land and plantation where I now live after his mothers death or marriage. I give unto my son Stephen Jones the hundred acres of land which was left out of my son Reps tract. I give to my beloved wife Lucracy, during her natural life or widowhood, all my estate not before mentioned and at her death or marriage all my personal estate is sold except one Negro girl named Hannah and the money arising from the sale divided between my son Thomas and my daughters, Lucrecry, Mary, Ann, and Martha. I also leave one hundred acres of land known by the name of moons place to be sold and divided with the personal estate. I do constitute and appoint my son Robert Jones, Drury Jones, and Robert Chappell executors to this my last will and testament.

In a court held for Lunenburg County the 14th day of May 1778 The last will and testament of Reps Jones deceased was exhibited in court by Robert Jones one of the executors herein named, and was proved by the oaths of two of the witnesses herein subscribed, and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of the said executor (who have first made a oath according to law, certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate of the said will in due form. He giving security whereupon he gave bond and Security according to law. And liberty is reserved to Drury Jones the other executor named in the said will to join in the probate when he shall think fit. Robert Chappell the other executor refused here in court to join in probate.
